Our Partnership with TrueToForm
At Kalypso Couture, we believe that suits should be just like the people who wear them – completely unique, not generic or mass-produced. Our custom tailored suits are expertly hand-cut to your exact dimensions, so you can look great whatever your body type.
That is why Kalypso Couture is partnering with Chicago-based TrueToForm to bring 3D body scanning to our made-to-measure and Bespoke clients. TrueToForm is an app that allows you to submit your measurements easily, without having to go to a fitting with us in Jacksonville or a local tailor. This allows us to create made-to-measure and bespoke garments for clients anywhere in the US. The app is a quick & easy to way to provide accurate measurements so that we can draft our designs for your specific body.
We have been handcrafting suits the same way the French initially taught our tailors in the 1800s. Shoulder sleeves are cut with a gentle forward curve to conform to the natural curve of your shoulders, while the sleeves echo the bend of your arm. Our master tailors hand-fit the shoulder pad to the armhole to ensure a perfect shape. Canvas Construction makes the suit soft, supple, and sculpted for a long life of supreme performance; just place the suit on a hanger and wrinkles will disappear.

What is TrueToForm?
It’s a way for us to gather your measurements from a distance without you having to come in for an in-person fit session. TrueToForm is a Chicago female-founded smartphone-based scanning platform that generates highly accurate digital mannequins for apparel design. The patent-pending app uses proprietary algorithms to capture body shape and size in 3D, along with full-body measurements. As a brand, Kalypso Couture is implementing TrueToForm to be able to better serve our made-to-measure and bespoke clients.
How long does it take to do a body scan?
10 minutes or less!
What should I wear for a body scan?
Figure-hugging but not tight clothes. For example, a pair of non-compression leggings or shorts and a tank top. Please wear the normal undergarments that you would wear with the finished look. Tie your hair up and out of the way and remove any jewelry that might affect the scan.
How is the data stored & is this secure?
TrueToForm does not collect photographs or videos of scanned users. All data is encrypted for secure transfer and storage. Your measurements and scan are only shared with Kalypso Couture.
Are the measurements reusable?
Once you scan, we don’t have to scan again (for future orders) unless your size changes.
Do I get a real garment in the end?
You get a real garment made to fit your measurements. This is NOT for an NFT or purely virtual fashion, though 3D technology does enable us to design the garment to fit your body. We hope to continue developing our virtual tailoring experience. Subscribe to our Newsletter for Updates!
Do I have to use TrueToForm body scans to order from Kalypso Couture?
No, not necessarily. We offer virtual, in home, in office, or showroom consultations. You are always welcome and encouraged to schedule an in person consultation for the perfect fit.
If for some reason you are unable to use TrueToForm or have a local tailor or help from a friend and would rather take your measurements the old fashion way, you can fill our questionnaire that includes guidance and opportunity for custom inputs.
What if I’m not sure about my size or if I need to do a body scan?
No problem. Contact us for a complimentary consultation to see if Kalypso Couture will be the perfect fit for you.
Is TrueToForm free to use?
Yes, the TrueToForm app is free for you to use as the client The cost of the body scan service is paid for by Kalypso Couture. However, with made-to-measure, there is more required on our end to not only to process the scan but also adapt the pattern to your measurements and reprint the pattern. For this reason, our pricing is all inclusive and full service.
What’s the difference between made-to-measure and bespoke?
If you ever manage to find a suit off-the-rack that fits like a glove, you've just encountered a miracle. Big name manufacturers churn out suits that fit a select few body types, and most men have to pay even more money to have a tailor make alterations while they're still coping with a $4-5 thousand price tag for luxury labels in retail stores. But why waste time and money when you can purchase a suit that meets your exact vision without sacrificing fit or style? Even if you do strike gold and find a perfect fit off the rack, chances are there will be one or two things that don't quite suit your taste. That will give you pause every time you open your wardrobe to consider putting on that suit.
To learn more about the differences, schedule a consultation or read more from our Principal Designer.
What if I don’t have a compatible phone? Can I still use TrueToForm?
TrueToForm is only currently compatible with iOS devices that support FaceID. If you do not have a compatible device, you can ask a friend to help you with your scan or you can schedule a showroom visit with at Kalypso Couture to assist with the scan process.
