An Open Letter to the First Coast

“As the Principal Designer and one of the Founding Members of Bespoke House, I have long been proud of the work we do to guide those on their bespoke journey. I have come to see myself as the Maitre D’ of Duval, the Drip Broker, and that is why I have written an Open Letter to the First Coast, as my submission for a seat on the Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Committee under the new administration. As always, it will be an honor to serve.”

- Michael Armanno

I am writing to express my strong interest in the position on the Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Committee under the Deegan Administration. With a deep passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering a vibrant cultural landscape in Jacksonville, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience to this important initiative.

Having followed Mayor Deegan's vision and goals for Jacksonville, I am truly inspired by the inclusive and collaborative approach that is being embraced. I firmly believe that art and culture play a pivotal role in shaping a city's identity and fostering a sense of community. I share the same values of transparency, accountability, and innovation that are at the core of this administration's decisions.

Throughout my career as a principal designer of Kalypso Couture and one of the founding members of Bespoke House, I have honed my skills in creative leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement. My experience in the fashion industry has allowed me to collaborate with diverse teams, build strong relationships with artisans and creators, and contribute to the cultural fabric of our community. I have a proven track record of successfully executing projects that blend artistic expression with practicality and resonate with a wide range of audiences.

As a member of the Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Committee, I would bring a unique perspective, combining my expertise in design, artistic curation, and community development. I am dedicated to retaining local art talent, enriching public and private programming, integrating art into public spaces, and attracting more public events to Jacksonville. I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment that supports and empowers local artists and creatives, ensuring their voices are heard and their work is celebrated.

Furthermore, I am eager to collaborate with fellow committee members, community leaders, and artists to develop comprehensive plans and initiatives that align with Mayor Deegan's vision of a healthy, safe, resilient, inclusive, and innovative city. I believe that by leveraging our collective strengths and embracing the diversity of our community, we can create a vibrant cultural landscape that reflects the true essence of Jacksonville.

I am confident that my passion for the arts, my experience in creative leadership, and my dedication to community engagement make me an ideal candidate for this committee. I would be honored to contribute my skills and insights to help shape the future of arts, culture, and entertainment in Jacksonville.

Thank you for considering my application. I have attached my resume for your review, and I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss how I can contribute to the committee's goals. I look forward to the possibility of working together and making a positive impact on the cultural landscape of our city.

Sincerely,

Michael Armanno
